Both artistic and functional, these authentic Binga Baskets are handcrafted in Zimbabwe using traditional weaving techniques passed down through generations. Woven from natural Ilala Palm fibres, each piece is a true original—celebrated for its rich texture, intricate patterning, and the personal brand stamp of the woman who created it.

Whether displayed solo or as part of a curated wall feature, Binga Baskets bring depth, warmth, and storytelling into any space. They also work beautifully styled on tabletops as a statement centrepiece or layered under accessories and vessels to add tactile interest.

No two baskets are ever exactly the same. Variations in pattern and tone are not imperfections—but a reflection of natural materials and human touch. The tone of each piece is shaped by the season in which the palm is harvested, the drying and ageing process of the reeds, and subtle environmental conditions. Occasionally, fresh reeds may display a lighter, more straw-toned hue that deepens and settles over time, especially when exposed to direct sunlight.

Tone variation and colour matching:Due to the unique nature of each handmade piece and the natural variation in palm fibre tones, we do not recommend purchasing multiple individual sizes with the expectation of a perfect colour match. If you’re seeking a cohesive tonal set for grouped display, please view our curated bundles, where compatible pieces have been pre-selected and styled together. If tonal variation isn’t a concern—for example, if your baskets will be placed in separate rooms or styled as standalone pieces—feel free to mix and match across the range.

Dimensions: 78-82cm diameter

Slight variance in size can occur due to the handmade process.

Create a warm, layered focal point by displaying your Binga Basket as a standalone statement or styling it as part of a wall feature. Hang multiple sizes in staggered heights to create a natural flow, or cluster them with slight overlaps for a fuller impact. Smaller sizes work beautifully in tight spaces or mixed into gallery walls, while larger sizes can anchor a space above consoles, beds or fireplaces.

Mounting options:
• For a secure, flush mount, insert a small gold pin or nail directly through the weave at the base and push into the wall.
• Alternatively, thread a small piece of wire through the back of the weave and hang from a wall hook.
• For a non-invasive option (especially in rentals), you can use heavy-duty double-sided mounting tape from your local hardware store. This is best suited to smaller or medium baskets—larger pieces may require multiple strips or a more secure method.

Tip: Before mounting, lay your baskets on the floor or use painter’s tape to map out your arrangement on the wall. This makes it easier to visualise spacing before making any marks.

Avoid placing your basket in areas exposed to moisture or prolonged direct sunlight, as this can speed up drying and cause discolouration or fading. Freshly woven reeds may appear lighter or more yellow-toned—this is a natural part of the drying process and will mellow with time. Dust gently with a feather duster or dry cloth to maintain the basket’s texture and appearance.
